Traveling tip: Nerja

A very nice town to visit or stay is Nerja. This city has a very central location from which you can easily visit Granada, Sevilla, Malaga, Sierra Nevada... Not only it is centrally located, the old part of the town itself is also very cozy with its narrow streets and many shops. There are a lot of things to do : go for shopping, dining, have a drink or simply enjoy the beautiful views from the look-out point named ‘Balcon de Europa'. You can enjoy a perfect meal with lovely sea-views on a cozy terrace for attractive prices. If fine dining is more your thing, we have a restaurant tip in this section below. In short, Nerja is a very versatile town with activities for every one!

Nice restaurant in Nerja: Fusion

Do you want to enjoy Mediterranean kitchen on a high level? It is possible in Nerja, in a restaurant called ‘Fusion'. The Swedish owners cook very well and add some international flavors to their Mediterranean food. The plates look like paintings and the chef is using pure flavors and combines them in a creative way. He developed his own style after gaining experience in restaurants with Michelin stars. After being introduced to the Japanese kitchen he went to Thailand with his family, where he found more inspiration. His goal is not to create dishes that are too complicated, he appreciates simplicity. The competitive nature of the chef makes sure that he is constantly looking for new challenges. With his own restaurant in Nerja he can enlarge his career to his fullest potential and extend his concept.

Have a look at their website.

Sunbathing and skiing

If you think about the South of Spain, you usually only think of sunshine, the sea and beaches but this is not all! For those who love to ski, the Sierra Nevada is waiting for you! Go skiing in the morning and sunbathing in the afternoon, quite a nice combination! It's a bit early now to go skiing but it's never too soon to plan your trip (you can save some money if you book before the 15th of November). Usually at the end of November the ski resorts are open! More info on the web page.

The moment to buy is now!

You may or may not know it, but at the time the pound stands strong against the euro! Because of this, it is the ideal time to invest in a property abroad, especially because the market is picking up again and prices are going up already. The 'telegraph' wrote an article about this matter earlier this year. You can read it here.

Best climate of Europe

Which part of Europa can claim the best climate of Europe? Spain, Italy, maybe Greece? If you have to believe the promotion campaigns of traveling agents, the sun shines practically everywhere. Commissioned by a chain of hotels, research was being done as to determine the area where tourists would feel the most comfortable in terms of climate. Our area was named as the best climate in Europe! Because we have a ‘micro-climate'. We are protected by the surrounded mountains of extreme heat in summer-time and the cold in winter time. Because of this we can enjoy 300 days of sunshine and even enjoy most of winter time. Never been here before? Come over and convince yourself of how nice the climate is!

Lonely planet

We, at Andalucia Real Estate, are all big fans of Malaga after the upgrades that have been done during the last years to make it a ‘trendy' city. Since then, the city got a lot more of attention after reforming the harbour and the introduction of a new ‘Pompidou' museum, amongst many other things. The ‘Lonely Planet' travel guide recently posted their top 10 of the best cities to visit in Europe. The efforts of the last years to upgrade Malaga are clearly working out because Malaga city ended on fourth place in their review! This will surely boost the city even more. You can find the complete article here.

Recipe : Gambas al pil-pil for two persons

Looking for a nice recipe during the winter-time with a Spanish touch? Try ‘Gambas al pil-pil', an easy to make dish.

Ingredients:

+/- 20 gambas, cayenne pepper, salt, 4 little dried peppers (1cm big), olive oil, 4 cloves of garlic and grinded parsley for the finish.

Preparation:

Cut the cloves of garlic in fine slices. Heat the olive oil (+/- bottom covered with approximately 1cm of oil), add the garlic, cayenne pepper, salt and small dried peppers and let it cook for 1 minute. Afterwards add the gambas and let everything cook together for 4 minutes. Scatter the parsley before serving. This dish is very nice with fresh bread for dipping.

Buen provecho!
